After playing games like Tomb Raider and NieR Automata, I was slightly distressed that Witcher 2 makes input choice practically mutually exclusive. With the former two games I perform most activities with the gamepad but switch over to mouse & keyboard when proven to be more efficient like quickly reaching out far menu items or pinpoints on the map.

The sad thing is the mouse cursor is actually still around but hidden when in gamepad mode; I can select/press items provided I can hover the invisible cursor at the correct location.

I keep reading discussions and debates over gamepad vs KBM superiority but nobody considers simultaneous use. Any means to fix this? (render mouse cursor even in gamepad mode)
