This week Forkkify took the win with an awesome flak run. Following closely was Wizard with the kind of perfect run that would make J.W. happy. Kakujo made commentating look easy as a scout. Shaton burst into the challenges as an exellent sniper[www.twitch.tv] Kurt recovered from his previous week like a badass[www.twitch.tv] and Aruru kept the brony dream alive as a marine.[www.twitch.tv] While there can only be so many winners I'd like to note some good runs that got overtaken during the course of the challenge like Arand's, McSwift's, Stop the Insanity's[www.youtube.com], and /)BN(\Trixie who was relentless in putting up runs.


In the community we have a collection of runners with various talents. Some are known for long runs, some are known for last second runs, some are known for being insane, and some might not be human. Among them is Qinji; a humble man with an affinity for explosives. Its time for a week of pro runs where the greatest threat in the game is yourself. As has become standard players will be pigeon holed into various categories based on their secondary weapon because the primary will be explosive; the Scout (melee), the Sniper (bolt), the Badass (explosive), the Marine (bullet), the Perfect (energy), or the Flak (shell).

The person who posts the furthest most single player recording of a Nuclear Throne run while using Steroids, limiting mutations and creating gratuitous explosions before August 2, 2014 will receive a game via steam (note the rules below).

Run Specific Rules:

• Players must select Steroids.
  
• Players cannot select the Boiling Veins, Eagle Eyes, or Second Stomach mutations.
  
• Starting with the default Revolver or Golden Grenade Launcher is allowed.
  
• The weapons carried at the start of the level before the level the player died on will count as the final weapons used that run as defined by the wiki.
  
• Players may pick up and use any weapons, however runs will only count if at least one of the final weapons was explosive as defined by the wiki.
  
• The second weapon on the character will determine what category the runner is placed in; one winner per group.
  
• Players must select the Crown of Explosions whenever it is an option.
  
• Screen Shake must be set to 200%.
  
• Victory is based on distance.

Recording Rules: The run must be done with update 37. After the run ends please leave the death screen up for at least 5 seconds so the end level can be confirmed; the distance of the run will be determined by the death screen assuming it appears accurate and will determine who wins. In the event of a lock up the last level that fully loaded ,and was seen in the video, will be counted as the final level. The game cannot be modded aside from the use of recording software. The run must be done on a version of the game that all Nuclear Throne players have access to. The video must also be viewable in the U.S. so that the run can be confirmed; strongly suggest Youtube or Twitch. The videos must be imbedded in responses to this post or have a direct link to the video in the response to this post. Do not put any visual or time related edits ,aka cuts, into the video during the duration of the run. Audio edits and voice overs are fine. If you pause or go afk during the run just leave it in the video.
Win Rules: Players can post as many runs as they want as submissions as long as there is no obvious spam; players are also encouraged to post their best runs even if they do not win. If there is a tie I will give the win to the earliest unedited post in response to this; it will be based on when the response is made in steam and not when the video is made. If the post is edited after I have seen the video in an unedited post then it will still be accepted. Previous challenge winners can still win this challenge. Members of the Nuclear Throne Dev Team and people associated with the Dev Team can win the challenge. Whoever wins will have to accept their game through steam by using the friend system. This means Solid will friend the winner to pass over the gift, no you are not required to keep Solid on the friends list after the exchange. The player who does the best in the challenge will be offered a game of Solid's choice. Yes, games other than nuclear throne will be the reward although do not expect anything too new or expensive.
Additional Win Rules: The top run for each category will be offered a very minor game of Solid's choice and a position in the conclusion of the challenge. The standard rules and dates still apply to all runs. The same person can win multiple times. Wins for being the of a weapon type, but not a top run, will not count as wins for future challenges.
Dates: The official end time for responses to this post will be at 11:59 pm on Friday, August 1st, 2014 (right before it becomes August 2nd, 2014) based on the GMT time zone. However Solid is a stupid American and MAY accept runs that are posted shortly after the posted time. Solid should claim the victor and try to contact them around August 2nd, 2014 However that is entirely on the basis that Time Warner Cable remembers to pay their electric bills again.
