Hello. In the past the challenges were not quite as perfessional as they would become. For those looking to repeat old challenges or see what is contained in the past I have posted this revised variation of the challenge based on current formats. The unmodified challenge is still maintained below the update.

Run Specific Rules:

• Players must select Robot.
  
• Players can select any mutations.
  
• Players must start with their default weapon.
  
• Players cannot use or trade for any weapons other than their starting weapon.
  
• Players may take any crowns.
  
• Victory is based on distance.

To everyone who is reading this I am sorry... again, but the Robot Challenge is over. Wizard_Amul took the game apart... again. I will leave this post up so that everyone can see what was on the table, how it ended, and view the related runs. I will post another challenge after the next update is released (or it is confirmed that there will not be no update).


Hello. Previously in this forum a challenge was issued to see if someone could beat the current build of Nuclear Throne while only using the default starting weapon (generally the revolver). A short 10 hours after the original post Mr. Wizard_Amul had a video response using Crystal and claimed his prize. The original challenge confirmed a theory that Rami had, but it has not entirely addressed the issue (the quote was specifically in a Robot balance thread). As such I still have some games sitting on my steam account and am willing to offer them up once again to see if the most skillful of players can make a Robot run happen.

The person who posts the furthest most recording of a Nuclear Throne run while playing as Robot and only using the default revolver before May 10th, 2014 will receive a game via Steam.

♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ rules; The run must be done with update 25 (the current update). The game cannot be modded aside from the use of recording software. The run must be done on a version of the game that ALL Nuclear Throne players have access to. The video must also be viewable in the U.S. so that I can confirm the run happened (strongly suggest Youtube or Twitch). The videos must be imbedded in responses to this post or have a direct link to the video in the response to this post. Please do not put any visual or time related edits into the video during the duration of the run (audio edits and voice overs are fine). After the run ends please leave the death screen up for a few seconds so the end level can be confirmed; the distance of the run will be determined by the death screen assuming it appears accurate (and thus will determine who wins). Only Robot can be used, any mutations can be picked, any crowns can be chosen (including no crown), there is no limit to levels. I will allow additional weapons to be picked up, but cannot be fired or used. I will allow robot players to carry and eat weapons. Starting with gold weapons will not be allowed (but they can be eaten like everything else). Whoever does the best in the challenge will be offered a game (yes, games other than nuclear throne will be the reward although do not expect anything too new or expensive). If there is a tie I will deal with it as the situation allows. The ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ time cut off time for responses to this post will be at 11:59 pm on Friday, May 9th, 2014 (right before it becomes May 10th, 2014) based on the GMT time zone (but because I am a stupid American I MAY accept runs that are posted after that time). Whoever wins will have to accept their game through steam (either using the friend system or working through email). I should get around to claiming a victor and trying to contact them on May 10th, 2014 (but that is entirely on the basis that my internet provider remembers to pay their electric bills again).

TL; DR: Record runs with Robot only using the revolver and post them here (still responsible for following the annoying rules).
