How is this different from Slay the Spire?

I am doing research before buying this game. It's fairly cheap, but time investment is a big deal as an adult. So I did look at a couple of clips and have to ask the following: - How is this different from Slay the Spire? - To people who prefer this game over Slay the Spire: Why? Delve back into the battle between Heaven and Hell in Monster Train 2. But, there’s a twist. This time, we’re bringing the fight to Heaven! Monster Train 2 has hours of new content for the roguelike fan to enjoy (I see you, players who’ve spent hundreds of hours on Monster Train 😛). REALLY why more demons

I played a few mins, did not look at screen shots or read about it so thats on me. WTF is the obsession with hell or demons.. we have aliens we have monsters , so many better ideas. I really hate the idea of helping demons fight heaven or angels. like this is a dumb idea am i missing something? The game was very fun for lil i played. I do not appreciate this. I guess its on me for not reading. I tried looking at workshop to maybe mod this crap out.. nope not really. No i dont want clown rewards!!!! ugh m...

150 hours and maxed achievements should tell you how amazing this title is.

A must buy if you enjoy crunching numbers and being strategic while trying to make OP combos.

I really like the Unit + Floor system and some of the upgrades can go hard, there is also a nice balance of being able to pick certain cards to tailor your build so you don't feel locked in to just 1 strategy. Playing this after it went on sale has me excited for the upcoming Monster Train 2.

I also really like the music, it's super atmospheric and fills the silence, usually I mute music and after listening, I did not so this is definitely a point in its favor. Some people do not like the art/style but I think it's very nice looking and the animations lively for a skeletal system, not too stiff. A lot of the card art is pretty forgettable, there are a few standouts that look very good though.

Is this bad on Steam Deck?

I thought about picking it up but this is the kind of game I would only play on the Deck, and I'm seeing some pretty mixed accounts of what it's like on there. Is the text painfully small and does it really have a lot of issues? It seems like it should be a perfect deck game...
