Are you talking about the design or the aesthetic?

I found the level design to be pretty good as far as Souls-likes go. Those kind of games thrive on exploration and absorption in your environment. It's not on a level with Dark Souls (few games are, including the Dark Souls sequels) but it's still not bad.
