There most certainly isn't any plan.
Or more accurately, they probably planned to stop since a long time.

Hello! We are a small indie team and are focused on our new game "Star Birds" at the moment. However, we see that a lot of people still love and play Dorfromanik and we will think about ways to add some more content after our new game is released.

Lets release a game and then do nothing with it or the community that plays it. Instead lets make a new game and forget about those who played the last game. Yeah, game studio is dead to me. Won't be touching "star birds".

All you needed was some new tile sets every couple months and could even charge for them.

Not everything needs to be like Dota 2 or No Man's Sky, where adding new content brings players back to spend more money on microtransactions or battle passes. Some games, like Dorfromantik, are 'feature compete', meaning a dev team completed the vision they had when the starting making it.

Thanks @ruler2k2k2 - you're absolutly right. That would be a 100% legit approach. However, I can only underpin what Luca writes above. We are in fact thinking about ways to add more content for Dorfromantik. And we are currently setting up processes to be able to manage the associated workload in our indie team. So this is not a put-off, but something that is actively happening at Toukana right now. We won't realistically be able to finalize Dorfromantik content during the Star Birds release, but we are already setting the course. A lot is happening in the background at the moment.

I'd Just Like To Pop In and Say That I Came To Dorfromantik VERY LATE-
I Didn't Get It Until Dec 2023, and I LOVE IT, I Can Sink Hours Into It and It's Great
Just the Way It Is- There Are 1 Or 2 Tile Types I'd Like To See, Like Hills/Mountains,
But I'm OK That Not Everything I Want Will Be In a Game

I Get Happy Making a Nice Railroad, Forest, Or Seeing Bears (SO MANY Bears:steamhappy:)
