"Dark Mode is something we might consider adding to the game. However, we'd like to make sure that it fits stylistically if we do end up adding a mode like that so for now I'll have to leave you with a "Maybe at a later date, potentially."
The answer I got here I know is a copy and paste response. There is not much to think about. The community is already giving you free ideas and suggestions. I'm sure if the feature wasn't added before, it won't be added now.
I don't play the game because of this. Even choosing the "darkest" tile theme wasn't enough.
I would much prefer to have the entire game have dark mode. This includes menus, backgrounds, tiles, and other elements to reduce eye strain. I would settle for the map background to be dark since players spend the most time here.
I suggested a Color Wheel. Just choose the tile color theme, and go into a menu to choose the empty space background color.
I kept the news feed going for this game in hopes for an update....but it was only monthly challenge stuff, which I didn't care for. So I turned it off.
More visual settings make perfect sense from an accessibility point of view. We are currently looking for a good solution as to how we can respond better to requests and needs from the community in future, even though we are only a small team of eight people. If everything works out the way we hope, things should improve significantly on that side. We feel the same way as you, it is frustrating when seemingly small implementations cannot take place due to capacity bottlenecks. We are on it 💪
