I'm sure this has been suggested before but I think this game would be even more incredible if the map started out with players laying tiles around a giant castle and instead of train tracks we would have a cobble stone road with era appropriate homes & fields. So then what you are building looks more like a kingdom instead of a countryside with random whatevers everywhere.- OR - The center of the map would be a downtown and the tiles would have buildings of various sizes, homes, schools, little malls, baseball/football/soccer parks... stuff like that.
