I really like Contract D- Crystal Power is very nice, basically pumps up everything you do.
Also, never reset with the second boiler as the waste from boiler 1 is pretty important (and you want to get waste upgrades as soon as you cna)
More waste means more drowners which makes more undead and leads to more demons to create even more waste than the last time.
Contract H is also pretty good if you can get it as it means the more resources you trade the more bonuses the factions get by the multiplier
Boiler B gives 1.33 multiplier for prestige. It takes another contract that is VERY expensive to slowly upgrade it to 1.66, 2, 2.25 etc. up to 3.00
It is generally worthless until you get boiler C or the countdown contract. I suggest upgrading waste contract instead until then.
Remember! More waste means more drowners and so on as you get more ashes for increased waste next run.
Don't neglect resetting undead though. They have some benefits to demon reset runs
If you are in a situation where you are:
1) Continually doing Boiler Resets AND
2) Can easily get enough ash for boiler B AND
3) Cannot easily get the requirements for boiler C AND
4) The additional waste you'd get from boiler A would have little or no impact
In this case, boiler B is ideal. Reset the gears from boiler A, stack them on B, and when you're done with these boiler B resents, put those gears back on boiler A.
While I did this for a number of weeks to get demon contracts faster, it probably would have been better to do it for a shorter period of time, and buy levels in Demon Contract J earlier. It may also have been better to spend my energy and time differently on each such reset such that the waste from boiler A would have mattered more.
Contracts D and H help a ton to generate more waste. Contract C is also huge as you'll want to run crystal 2 A Lot. Unlocking the mushroom farm and the leech hall to go with it gives you options for long runs - They are so game changing, I'd suggest shooting for them early. The undead is able to generate a ton of waste itself once you get mushrooms going and contract O can give you enough waste to buy kelpies every time you rebirth undead.
And finally, to go fast in the early stages of the game, you'll need to start shoving gears in the boiler and/or obelisk. Putting gears in these will give you the best prestige boost.
Long-term the Mushroom Farm is crucial, yes, but early on it's basically useless. The Dark Mushroom is not going to do anything for you at that point, and the other ones are way outside your price range.
I don't think it's worth shooting for early. Same for Leech Hall- it's only going to be useful when you can actually afford the Mushrooms it unlocks. I didn't have enough to use a Ruby Mushroom until I got the contract to reduce the price. Which was pretty damn expensive.
with a demon restart you get either a waste restart, or a prestige restart.
the waste restart is mainly for the drowners faction, as they require waste to purchase.
the prestige restart is needed for demon contracts.
the undead and drowners factions restarts are for prestige - for their classes.
seee the important thing is collecting anything that carries over from restart to restart - prestige, gears, contracts, etc.
this is what speeds up the game between restarts.
later you get contracts for the runes and pearls to not be reset on each restart which provides lots of bonuses to different things, but more importantly, you START the run with the bonuses active, instead of building them up over the course of the run.
the mushrooms that generate waste consume resources that are not easily attainable early game.
such as bubonic mushroom, it consumes 20 hell ash. this is fine if you can gennerate 1500 - 2k hell ash every time crystal 3 is active, but not so if you only a generate a few hundred hell ash a day.
