Controls not working on Steam Deck... can anyone help?

I have reinstalled, tried different controller load-outs, external cotrollers, different protons and no luck.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

I switched it to Keyboard (WASD) and Mouse and it works now with the onboard controls on the Steamdeck.
