13 years later it's still a great game. The gameplay is solid and the difficulty is mostly though but fair. There's a few exceptions but it remain great through all it's chapters especially with such a good soundtrack, the story is confusing and even after playing the sequel you might not still get what's going on.

You probably heard about this game already, and yeah it is a classic. I had to get used to it a little but in the end I enjoyed the game.

Theme is really creative. It is really well made that you understand how it became a classic. It is a pixel game and some people might approach with prejudice but let me tell you, artistic side is lovely. It is simple, colorful and overall theme is complete.

Gameplay is what most people will play the game for. It is one of the fast paced games where you either kill others one hit or die from one hit meanwhile seeking combos. I can say it is a little hard to learn and even harder to play it properly and do infinite combos to get A+ on all levels, but not impossible. It is actually pretty pleasing to learn it and try to do it. I only tried to do an A+ run a couple levels and it was fun, but grinding to that is pretty optional. You can witness the story and overall vibes meanwhile taking it a little slow and finish the game for good too. If you crave such a game I would recommend.

I actually played the game for the story and theme and also not disappointed. It might be cut short but a pleasing experience. I was curious enough to learn the game a little to finish it till the ending. I love the stories that include psychos and violence, like Postal 2, and this game also did not disappoint me. I would recommend Hotline Miami highly, though you might need a little extra time and patience to learn it.

I also want to talk about the music choices, it is just excellent and brilliant, absolutely loved it.
