Avowed is literally a downgrade from a 19 year old game.
I love how the comparison for Avowed went from Skyrim to Oblivion. Community realized "Nah Skyrim is too advanced for it, let's go to a few more years back game".

Games today try to hide bad gameplay and poor detail with great graphics.

Games back then tried to hide bad graphics with great gameplay and great attention to detail.

This is just one reason why modern Games suck.

too much RPG elements get removed over time it seems

funny thing is, skyrim was universally panned for the same reason, the game was too simplified with its perk points and no stats.

The irony? Skyrim is worse than oblivion in terms of RPG elements and depth in that regard, so comparing to Oblivion really doesn't do it much better outside of praising the combat.

I can't speak for Skirim though, maybe that one needs mods to be good

yep. skyrim had already transitioned to "action game will skill points" even in 2011

if modern games suck why did baldur's gate 3, mouthwashing, and balatro sweep.

because those (except for balatro) are breaths of fresh air, those are games that return to the root.

this is why Avowed should of waited another year, we got too many S tier games for under 40$ this year.

and avowed is simply just... C tier? middle of the pack?

im confident with Middle of the pack.
