Fun fact if the game is region blocked.
You can't review the game.
Even if you own the license to play the game on steam.

how did you even buy the game in the first place if it was region blocked?

By buying it from else where lul, you know you have steam key activation.
Blocking the store page regionally is just a formality.

And the key works and you can play the game? Can I know what key you bought and from where?

I thought keys won't be activated in blocked regions

As I'm in EU, I just bought the EU Deluxe key for 50 Eur or so, it though activated as ROW instead of EU, could be just a steam thing and because of the region locking.

Check allkeyshop and choose whatever shop you want.

And you don't need to use vpn.
I didn't bother to try to circumvent steam's way of blocking vpn logins.

That part only only matters if you're in the correct region for the key.
If you get an EU key while you're in EU, it will still activate, regardless how the key is translated after being activated. "region blocking" aka Store Page blocking is just for store page, including reviews.

I haven’t tried Spider Man 2 but I can indeed confirm if you buy a cd key in my example Europe key, and I live in a region locked country (Latvia) I will still be able to activate it.

So far I’ve bought and played God of War Ragnarok and Ghost of Tsushima, I have no problems whatsoever, I can even login to PSN when in-game.

Just like the OP said, the region lock on store is just a formality, the only thing you can’t do as far as I know is access the store page and buy it through Steam and OP said that you can’t review the game (haven’t tried)

What I do is, whenever I want to buy a game from a third-party website I make sure that when I go to the buy page I make sure it says:

Can activate in - *country name*
As far as I know only Europe keys only work for my region, which is the baltics.

I’ve heard that for people from Serbia, Croatia or Bosnia or all of them the key sites said:

Can’t be activated - *country name*

If they could activate the key or not in those countries I don’t know.

Exactly.
I'm from Serbia. Bought a key for this game from 3rd party site. It said it could be activated in Serbia. I couldn't activate the key. I got a refund. So, no, Serbia is still region locked for all Sony PC games that have this lock on place.

Did you try the king one?

Maybe try from there the eu version of key, for me weirdly activated as a ROW version on steam, even though I'm in EU, they key was listed as EU in the shop.
So I'm not sure if the keyshops actually have the correct region keys or just steam adjusts the version of it however it wants.
What does steam say to what region the key belongs?

They might or might not remove the region restrictions since logging in to PSN in God of War Ragnarok and Spider Man 2 is now optional, not required, surprised they haven’t done it yet with the release of the game…

Where'd you buy the key from? Eneba? Kinguin?
