Too many crops
I feel like there's too many crops compared to everything else. So far all my farms have been "completed" by the time I'm barely 50% through the crop unlocks, with no free space left, nothing left to buy, no more land to unlock. I don't really see why I would need more when the game basically becomes a screen saver at this point (there's nothing to interact with really).

Berries are also kind of in the same boat, where it feels like I'm done by the time I've unlocked 4 or so bushes, on top of that there's zero reason to have more than your two most recently unlocked bushes placed. It just seems like these unlocks expect a farm to take 4-5x longer than it actually does to finish it all.

Same here. At least the different maps offer somewhat differing gameplay; like right now my last one is the Snowy Forest where bots use a lot more biofuel and have their upgrades limited. But even on that I had the entire map unlocked far before unlocking the last crop.

What do you mean, no space left? When you unlock new crops, you generally don't need to keep planting old crops, especially if they are no longer needed to unlock new ones. Don't tell me that you're still planting wheat and tomatoes!

But, for the most part, it seems like the only reason is for achievement purposes, especially in regards to the berry bushes.

I want hit 100% achivments and brother this ♥♥♥♥ is crazy. I'm like 3 months from 100% crops. Now im waiting for 10mln coins i guess it takes few more days, for 250k plant (currently 85k) like month if wheat strat will work but the animals... Digging fossil take ages and you need around 5k for 10 animals and guess what. You got 3 animal achivments.
The whole game is pointless if you need reason to play. Playing it is like your mom drawing when talk via phone - pointless but for time kill.

I mean there's literally no space left to build anything even if I want to. There isn't a single empty tile left on my farm and I've already got everything, fully upgraded, I don't even need biofuel generators anymore because there's nothing to spend it on and I've got almost a million sitting in reserve. All I'm doing is waiting for these later crops that take 20-30 mins to grow so they can be harvested so the next crop can unlock... and it's been like that for almost 15-20 hours on this farm. I unlocked the last berry bush and still have 3 rows of crops to unlock... I get it's for an achievement but it just seems inflated beyond the time it takes to do anything else with a farm. I imagine most people would be bored and want to start another farm by the time they've filled out every free tile and have no more reason to build and upgrade anything, because while it's an idle game you're at least making some progression and can try to do it faster with a fresh canvas (farm) but the crop grind is almost extending playtime on a farm by 4-5x more.

It just doesn't seem like the time is weighted proportionally to the rest of the progression paths.

I have all the achievements and it took 289 hours... But I certainly wasn't at the computer the whole time. I left the game running overnight and while I was at work. I get the impression that this is how a lot of "idle" games are like. People can feel like they are still gaming when they aren't actively gaming. I can't say that I am a fan of this approach, but it was an interesting (and cute) experience nonetheless.

I got 98h and missing one - 130/250k crops. You planted last crop at every possible tile?

No, since I was using the same farm in which I unlocked the achievements for having 100 decorations, 10 chickens and 10 pigs. So it was hardly an optimal, productive farm. I just let the game run until the last achievement popped.

I did end up unlocking all the crops along the way, though. Just don't plant any of the old ones. Take a look and see what crops you still need to unlock the different seeds and only use those. Let Splunt plant other things.

If it helps, my "grindy" farm did not have Forbic or Reaper. Since I got their achievements previously I didn't need them again.
