Lock missing from shop?

I am just starting in this game, there are no lock icons in shops, no matter where I place my cursor, am I missing something? I am playing on Steam Deck with a PS4 controller.

Keep playing and you'll unlock the feature

(and in the next update, I'll hide the tip that tells you to "press the lock buttons" until you've unlocked that feature)
