Why make a game in english about a foodstuff that is only available in Japan?

It doesn't make any sense.
If they sold CalorieMate products here, I'd buy them, always wanted to since MGS3 came out. but they don't sell them here and seemingly never will, so what's the point in funding an english language advergame for a product that is primarily only sold in Japan? I am baffled by this.
Amazing advertising for a product we can't buy domestically.
