Apartment Filled With Cats is a simple free-to-play hidden object cat game that would appeal more to the younger crowd or for some fast, mindless enjoyment.


Settings include; audio controls, language, game reset options and fullscreen or windowed (although windowed did not let me manually resize). If you want to set your window size I’ve provided instructions below.

If you wish to put your game into windowed mode, put -screen-width 1920 -screen-height 1080 (or a resolution of your choice) under properties in the games Steam library page under launch options and relaunch the game.

The game is okay for free-to-play. One map, static and most of the cats look like cats (except one that I had to use a hint for). A good one for the younger gamers to play or for some mindless, fast fun.

I guess it's difficult to leave anything other than a positive review for this hidden object game because it is free and does most things okay. The game will only take you between 5 and 10 minutes to complete because there is only one scene that fits onto your screen, unless you zoom in which is a feature.

There are a couple of achievements to gain, one for finding all the cats and one for finding a not so missing elephant. The game has unlimited hints but I did manage to find all felines without using one. Be aware though that there is a bit of artistic license in how the cats look and a bum or a face on ordinary objects is enough to warrant it being a cat. If you've played these games before you probably know what to expect.

The scene is quite nicely drawn though and there's a pleasant enough tune playing in the background.

Apartment Filled with Cats is a very basic hidden object game that will take you between 5 and 10 minutes to complete depending on whether you use hints or not.

All the features you would expect are here and the game is free so there's not really any harm in trying it. Just be aware that there are some funny looking cats in that apartment.

What is a cat?

In many hidden cat games, they are careful to make cats readily identifiable, and that's through one of two ways; by always having them be a semi-realistic cat shape (so that you can pick them out even when they are facing away or partially obscured, they're always a cat more-or-less as we see them in the real world), or by always having the cats facing the player (so that you can identify them from their ears and eyes, even if they using the cats-are-liquid style where cats can be basically any shape), This is because to do otherwise is, frankly, a bit unfair; how can you find the cat if there's no actual cat-ish trait to them?

This game... skirts SO close to that line of unfairness.

What is a cat, according to this game? Mostly, it's a semi-realistic cat, just sat around being a cat, cool. Sometimes, it's a vaguely cat-ish face smooshed onto an arbitrary object or texture, with just enough of cat ears and eyes showing to clue you in. But occasionally... Hoo, boy.

It's not that any of these things have absolutely no cat-like traits. It's just that, in context, those traits may as well be coincidental. They're lines that, were you NOT playing a game in which cats were hidden all over the picture, you wouldn't take as being in any way cat-like.

I'm going to give you one hint up front, because it will help with some (but not all) of the hardest ones. You know how cats famously have vertical-slit oval eyes? Take that bit of knowledge and throw it away. Cats now have two horizontal lines for eyes. You may only be able to see one, of course, and cats can be at any angle, so you're looking for any shape, possibly partially obscured, which has at least one short straight line on it. That still won't help you find all of them though. Good luck!

With all that said, this still isn't that hard; you'll probably have the whole thing done in 5 minutes. Just don't be fooled by all the cat-shaped cats you'll find up front, you'll be looking for any weird lines by the end.
