Hi SEGA Mega Drive and Genesis fans,

We're proud to announce our free update to the SEGA Mega Drive and Genesis Classics on Steam.

If you experience any issues post patch, please post them in this thread, along with your system specs -- it helps us tremendously.

The full list of upgrades includes the following:

• Two-player online multiplayer
• Leaderboards
• Challenge Modes – short challenges give old favourites a new twist
• Additional graphics filters & border options
• ROMs from other regions for games with significant differences
• Fast-forward and rewind
• Sprite limit disable
• Mirror mode – reverse the screen for a fresh challenge
• VR support
• Mac and Linux support

This update comes free to current owners of any SEGA Mega Drive and Genesis Classic title on Steam.

Hello. I get an error message every time I start the game. Should I send the generated error text document and crash dump to a sega support email?

My specs:
OS Windows 10 professional 64 bit
Graphics card: Intel HD Graphics 4600
Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4770 CPU @ 3.40GHz (8 CPUs), ~3.4GHz

You don't support the button mapping for a six button fightpad, which is actually identical to the Genesis controller layout.

Using Xbox notation:

X, Y, RB
A, B, RT

Can you guys add this as an option or at least allow complete button config?

The other region game versions are not working.

For example, I load the normal Streets of Rage 2 just fine, but when I select (JP) it gives me snow on the TV screen.

I launched the game and it closed when it loaded with a Windows error sound.

System specs:
Windows 10 build 15063 version 1703
Processor: Intel(R) Celtron
Graphics card: Intel HD Graphics
Memory: 4 GB of RAM.
EDIT: I tried it again and this time an error message appeared telling me that it generated a crash report. For some reason, the crash report isn't even there.
EDIT 2: The simple launcher works unlike the game room, but for some reason, it's streched to a 16:9 aspect ratio instead of using SADX-style borders.
EDIT 3: It only crashes when I'm launching the game through Steam, instead it softlocks when I launch the game without using Steam.

I'm also not too fond of how the update killed controller combatability

On Linux, and the mods sections are empty, even if I have Workshop content for the game.

HP Elite CMT with a 3.0 Ghz Dual Core CPU and an Nvidia 8400GS Graphics Card.

This works really well, actually. No problems to report yet. Wow guys. Framerate is still kinda iffy, but much much better. And from my specs, you will see that this is a very low end machine.

[BUG] Simple Launcher won't stop running
Hi after the new update the simple launcher doesn't close down correclty (steam thinks its still running) but there doesn't seem to be anything running in Task manager. So in order to play another game I have to log off/restart.

@☣Patient Zero☣, this is not related to the update. Try to delete the folder cache in the directory Steam, it's always helped me.
