Gyro configuration issue
I have been trying to configure the gyro to activate only when pressing the left grip.
This seems work initially, except when the left grip is released, the gyro remains active.

I have tried two different ways to achieve this :-
1) Activate the gyro using the left grip as the mode shift
2) Activate the gyro using the Advanced -> Gyro Enable Button

In the first case, the gyro remain inactive until the left grip is pressed for the first time, then the gyro activates, and remains activated even when the left grip is released.

In the second case the gyro is active all the time, no matter whether the left grip is pressed or not.

The game I am trying to configure is Kerbal Space Program, starting from the recommended Steam controller configuration provided by Squad.

Can anyone provide any asistance?

You can try using action sets. Make another identical action set to your default one, except in the other action set, leave the gyro always on.

Then use the left grip button to switch between them.

I appreciate the suggestion Vepar, but there is no "Add Action Set" button when configuring the controller for Kerbal Space program - the action sets all seem to be predefined by the "built-in" Steam Controller support for KSP.
Whilst it is great that Squad have provided built-in support :) - it is proving problematical to tweak it for my particular requirements:(

I wonder whether it might be possible to manually configure this controller set outside the Steam UI?

Oh, i didn't know KSP had native support, that's nice. Anyway, i think you can still add an action set somewhere although i'm not sure where. Or you can bring up the overlay and somewhere there in the configuration you can add and use "normal" configurations and user configurations and make your own as if you would in a game with no native support.

I cannot test that right now in a native game however because there's a storm here and my computer is unplugged from the power supply.

When it passes i'll look into it.
