Anytime I go to multiplayer there are no servers. Am i doing something wrong? Do I have to go through quickplay?

I have 250 hours and I just dont see the point of using armour on literally every mission. Tanks just sucks in this game, their only use is basically killing other tanks and nothing else. and the armour perk deck doesnt upgrade the tanks too much and is basically useless. Infantry and Support is way better?...
