Hmm I guess but as a removed games collector, I wish there was a way to contact the dev to ask for a key now

You can always try to contact them but pretty sure they will not answer to you, trust me, I and other folks tried everything but they just ran away. Still, I would really avoid giving my money so such scummy devs (anyway, you can't now at last from Steam Store) even though you are a collector but I get the point this isn't you main concern.
