No comms in valve servers?

after the just recent steam scheduled maintenance at 6 pm i cant type or speak in casual? just get "this account cannot use voice/text comm" or something like that. it was fine just before and works in community servers. i checked my email and havent gotten anything from steam. a little confused

Are you a free to play or premium? As free to plays can not speak in official Valve servers.

"The source spaghetti monster. When you try to kill it, it comes back later but twice as powerful."
Must have been the result of preventing demo from saying the gamer word when he touches water.
