So most players wants to be good at sniper but they are pretty much new to this class or they just know the basics. So here are some tips & tricks:

<ENCOUNTER WITH SNIPERS>

1. <DO NOT STAND STILL> You must move & strafe left and right and you should jump or crouch to dodge enemy sniper's shots.

2. Do not take shot or scope until the enemy sniper fires. But why? see when you scope your speed decreases or you can call it slow walk. Now if you try to take the enemy sniper you will try to scope and as I told you if you scope you will walk slow, seeing this the enemy sniper will instantly kill you! so be patient
wait until enemy sniper scopes.if he scopes you should instantly take him down.

3.Try to fool the sniper, Scope a little bit <DO NOT SHOT> enemy sniper will think you are scoping so he should try killing you but when he will scope and take a shot. you have to aim on his head and instantly kill him. sometimes the enemy sniper can fool you too by this trick! use headphones to hear his gunshot sound.

4.Practise headshots in tr_walkway. a community created map for training. When you will be pro in headshot. I will recommend playing with real people on MGE servers.

5.ALWAYS CHANGE YOUR POSITION AFTER KILLS.

6.use 800 DPI mouse setting and mouse sensitivity to the amount you are comfortable :). use raw input in mouse setting. Disable mouse acceleration.

<ENCOUNTER DEMOMANS>

1.If they are demoknights use jarate and bushwacka combo or if you have stock kukri watch out when they swing their melee then instanty crouch then hit them.It takes 3 hit or 4 hit to kill a demo.

2.If they using grenade launcher just jump and strafe to dodge their bombs, when they run out of bombs simply headshot them if they are standing still or melee kill them.

3.if they are charging then it is very easy to kill them just aim at the head and shot. remember shooting a charging demoman stops his charge so it doesn't matters where you aim.

<ENCOUNTER SCOUTS>

1.Killing boston boys are very easy if they are double jumping just imagine where they will land and move your crosshair there, when they land on the same position where your crosshair is just shoot him ez.

<ADDITIONAL>

1.If you miss shot instantly crouch to prevent getting headshotted.

2.Never stick in one position! always change your position where spotting you is difficult.

3.If someone spots you check out for any red ot blu coloured laser dots in walls or any props. Wait until the laser dot vanishes. A laser dot appeares when you scope and enemy can see it. Hide your crosshair in a wall so clever snipers or any class cant see it.

4.Always spy check. You can use razorback as many spies dont know that it can prevent sniper from getting backstabbed but some spies know so they can take you with their ambassador or diamondback crits in 2 shots so be aware of your surroundings.

5.If there are pyros spamming scorch shot in you, equip darwins danger shield. If spies are annoying use razorback or jarate is better because it can reveal cloacked spies, can extinguish you from fire and your teammates too. If scouts are a problem use smg or cleaner's carbine.

you try going for the shot only to miss by simply going to far yet i feel like its ingrained in my mind any tips if its possible to remove or i should just give up getting better at aiming in general cuz i wanted to improve my aim in sniper to also improve my aim in other classes like scout

if you move around like a madman. the enemy sniper likely cant take you down and miss

if you just move around like a madman and never shoot the other guy will just body shot you. no need for a headshot if the other guy just lets you charge a shot.

please dont advocate for second scoping its really not that good of a strategy.

just move around if sniper charges his shot just shoot him. If you think second scoping is not a good strategy then you can shoot first if you good at aiming

Yeah but some people miss shots when they shoot first. and enemy snipers can take them down if they are highly skilled
