Why has the game lost around 20-30K players in the last two month ?

Why has the game lost around 20-30K players in the last two month ?

I know that the game was FULL of idle bots getting free items but 30k less players ? Was there a new ban wave ? I love this game and it makes me sad to think that the game is slowly dying.

If anyone has any information, don't hesitate to share it !

The actual player count is in the 15k-25k range. Look at teamwork.tf for more accurate player numbers, although even that isn't 100% accurate.

The game always gets holiday peaks. Comapre the steam charts to the 2020 non-holiday months to get a better baseline. So if we look at February of 2020... hey tf2 still has more concurrent playrs

Well, some players are taking a break from the game or left due to the amount of toxic, stupidity, etc in game and community.
