That's awesome. Some great mods can be made
LFG!!!!!!!
this is a step in the right direction
the only problem is actually getting the community to use the mods that people make

the dream is a sourcemod that is able to pull inventory data from the item servers while allowing for full customization of classes/weapons on a server level so people can make whatever changes they like

I think thats fair, on the other hand I've talked to a lot of people like me who are willing to play mods if they were more easily accessible, and here they are getting ready to be more accessible. I dont really know anything about SDK or modding Valve games at all but I do hope what you say is true and that all of this can happen.

Honestly I'm glad Valve is making their games more mod-able, I think its nice. Things being mod-able is extremely important, not only in old video games (like TF2) but in new one's as well.

It's been a long time coming, the only thing bad I can see coming out of it is "bad actors" and thats more of an umbrella term, like I see cheaters and bot hosters using it to get back in casual but like I said idk ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ about SDK or what it can do.

I just hope that, if TF2 doesn't get anymore major updates content wise, we keep getting these. It's nice, shows there's at least someone who cares.

>Mod makers, rejoice! We've just released a massive update to the Source SDK, adding all the Team Fortress 2 client and server game code. This update will allow content creators to build completely new games based on TF2.
For the love of God please stop using the term "content creator". The post even opens with "Mod makers"! Just say modders!

I like the term content creator. It certainly sounds better than "Tiktoker" or something like that, and I would be using it more often if youtuber and streamer weren't so ingrained in my vocabulary (or in TF2's case, things like workshopper and modder).

Valve's opening the floodgates it seems. Curious if that's their unofficial way of saying they're done with the game.
I like playing Highlander. I think would be cool to have community balance changes for the game, with buffs and nerfs for classes and weapons as well.
Anyway, that's great news. Other companies should take notes.
