In the in-game store choose character and there you can BUY the clothes and things

Where is the in game shop? I'm in the middle of nowhere.

Go to your cache at any unlocked outpost. Then Character on side tab will show what you already have in way of clothing, backpack etc. Then you can go to store and buy any available clothing etc.

I don't see any outposts on the map. I'm in Medved Taiga :(

Where you can sleep and buy ammo is an outpost. It's been a while since I have played the map, but it would have been one of the first places you visit on the map. Then where you buy ammo on the left side you will see the character tab.

I figured it out. I had to go to the pause menu and press [H] to toggle "Reserve Selection", select the first world, and it spawns me at an outpost.

I don't have any outpost unlocked in Medved Taiga.

Cool. On Medved, where you start should be within a few hundred metres of an outpost like most maps.

first on every map is outlook and outpost missions, as the first missions
