FAQ: Technical Issues
Controller Not Working

1. Make sure you have up to date drivers and firmware for your controller.
2. Right click the game in your steam library and go to properties > controller > disable steam input. Or try playing with steam input enabled as that could also help in some situations.
3. Try disabling Native Input in the controller options in game then restarting the game.
4. Try playing with a controller wired if bluetooth is causing issues.

Stuttering in game

1. Make sure your graphics drivers are up to date.
2. Players experiencing stutters should make sure their Windows power plan is set to the highest setting ("Ultimate Performance" or "High Performance"). Do not use the "Balanced" power plan.
3. Change VSYNC in the options menu to false
4a. Open your graphics settings (Nvidia control panel) and go to:
Manage 3D settings > Program Settings tab > Select Death's Door
4b. If Death's Door isn't in the list of programs you can add it to the list manually. An easy way of finding it's location is by right clicking the game in steam, selecting properties > Local Files > Browse, then copy the address from here into the Nvidia control panel.
5. Find the Vertical Sync option in the Nvidia control panel and change the value to "Fast". If this doesn't help try either "Adaptive" or "On". This will enable hardware level Vsync for the game.

If it doesn't help make sure to try each of those 3 settings, "Adaptive" helps with general minor stutter, "Fast" seems to help with high refresh rate monitors having issues.

Game Crashing

1. Make sure your graphics drivers are up to date, some crashes can be a result of D3D initialisation not working correctly.
2. Verify integrity of files on steam to make sure nothing is missing or corrupted.
3. If you had played the game fine and then come back to find it crashing it may involve having set a resolution when using multiple monitors. Unity (the engine this game is made in) stores some of these variables in the registry, then on startup if one of those entries has some issue it can cause a crash. Try the following to get the game running again:
Open registry editor (start > type regedit > enter) and find the deaths door entry under SOFTWARE/Acid Nerve/DeathsDoor and delete all the entries in that DeathsDoor folder
This will reset any of these stored variables and you can try running the game again.
4. Some people's crashes are due to controller drivers. Make sure controller drivers are up to date, and the firmware is also updated. Otherwise another option is to switch to non-native input in game controller options
5. If you have "Sonic Studio III" installed (comes with some Asus motherboards) uninstall or disable it, it's currently causing crashes with many games that use Wwise for audio (which this game does).

Save file deleted

If you find your save file has been deleted (just says NEW in game), go here:
%USERPROFILE%\AppData\LocalLow\Acid Nerve\DeathsDoor\SAVEDATA
You will find a list of saves with the line "_backup" at the end, you can rename any of these to replace the save file that has been lost, ie. if you have a corrupted slot 1, rename any backup such as "Save_slot1_backup8.sav" to "Save_slot1.sav". A tip is that the backup with the largest file size is generally the most recent.
