Betty's patterns need to be changed
Every move of hers is way too fast, with little to no down-time between them, and the ball roll move actually chooses direction mid-air, not depending upon Betty's orientation before the jump, which feels like a hacky copout. I'd rather have the fight be more enjoyable in the moment too, y'know.

100% The combat ends up becoming a chore instead of satisfying and fun. The mid-air roll charge is awful and running in circles in an arena hoping to swipe once at the boss is just annoying. Maybe spoiled by Hades combat but I am having trouble finishing the game because the combat is mechanically not fun.
I got a leg up by cheezing a few free shots from the cliff above the arena before the fight started in earnest. Not sure how big a difference it made but I think it especially with the upgraded fire spell, it helped.

Betty only took me 3 tries. Don't get greedy with your hits, and don't spam dodge.

Agreed, Betty needs work. Its only the third point in the game where I've felt that the game isn't finished. Specifically, the roll attack needs an overhaul. She should commit to a roll direction AT THE START of the animation, not in mid-air.

Or, you could just delay when you dodge-roll. If you dodge right before she gets close, you'll get by it every time. The fact that the roll can track a little bit is part of the challenge...I love how many people try to claim this intentional feature is some glitch or bad design. They likely decided the fight was too easy with a standard roll.

The devs do not need to drop everything they're doing and nerf a boss because the timing on the player's rolls are off. Also, use fireballs, people...you should have them maxed out by this point in the game.
Betty was the third hardest boss in the game when I did my last umbrella/no upgrade run, but she is perfectly beatable even in that state. It's just a long battle because you can't get in too many hits at a time. Learning to dodge the trio of rolls is the most important part, and you can always reliably get in hits after the third. If you haven't been upgrading it, the speed boost helps a lot for this fight.
