How is the state of this game? Still crashing?
I wanted to play this trilogy on PC for so long but when I initially bought it, I had to refund because of some really bad performance/crashing issues around launch.

Can someone tell me if they've at least tried to fix issues?

Thanks in advance :-)

They have not exactly been able to fix the issues. Activision had Toys for Bob focus on Call of Duty almost immediately following the PC release. Since then, there have been no updates.

Ok, that's really sad to hear :-( I love the original trilogy so much.

Was the community able to do something?

Not exactly. There are workarounds for various issues. However, no true fixes yet. With the biggest issue, we need access to the source code.

That's really disheartening :-(
My rig is actually really good and I remember suffering from crashes when I initially bought the game (as stated above). It's so sad that an awesome collection like this doesn't get the proper care it deserves.

I wonder why so many reviews on Steam are positiv?! :-/

Because it's working for most of the people ^^'

I guess so ...
Still, I guess it's sadly a pass for me. I hate when a publisher (especially Activision) leaves so many problems unresolved and doesn't even release a single patch.

Thank you, guys/gals :-)

It never crashed to me, and I never had any performance issues since launch. Are you trying to run this game on a toaster or something?

Nope, my rig is pretty good - can play everything from Elden Ring to newer Far Cry games without a problem.

Strange. Are you using AMD cards and processor, or are you intel, nvidia? Not that it should matter but it honestly should work with either setup.

The latter.

Yeah well, it looked and played REALLY well ... my problems were the crashes.

I didn't had a single crash out of my 73 hour playtime. Are you using Windows 10, and have all the latest drivers? The problem is with your PC, cause these crashes don't happen to people.

I read that crashes/freezes were actually not that uncommon ... and since they never released a patch, I'm far from the only one.
There are even a lot of fanmade tutorial guides on how to work around some of them.

I don't know anyone with this problem.

Never personally had a crash myself, but tbh this port was pretty rushed and is far from perfect. Just out of curiosity, what framerate cap are you using if any? Capping the game at 30 FPS is known to fix a lot of problems with game logic. The game was designed for 30 FPS and built around it, but they kind of just let you go past it without accounting for all the stuff doing that breaks in the game. I wouldn't be shocked if your game crashes because your framerate is higher than 30 and it's breaking something. I personally play uncapped because I know how to get around a lot of the game breaking stuff that can happen, so this purely just an experimental suggestion.

The game doesn't crash because of the frame rate. I always played it with 60 fps and the only time I had to turn it to 30 were in one level in Spyro 1.
