Lots of changes have been made to Morbus in the last few days. I spent several hours yesterday implementing everything. One of the important features added on top of the Morbus update added a month or so ago was a Pointshop!

The Morbus Pointshop features mostly cosmetic items at this time. I strongly urge everyone to come and let me know what you think!

Players gain points by playing on the server. For every 10 minutes of gameplay, players get 5 points that they can spend in the shop. In addition this morning I implemented a lottery system for people to gain even more point to use. The lottery currently occurs every 30 minutes and it cost 5 points to purchase a lottery ticket.

I am also planning on creating a perk system for donators to TG so if anyone has any suggestions for incentives feel free to message me on the forums.
Moreover, I also modified around 12 weapons on the server to help with weapon balancing. Click Here[www.tectonic-gaming.com] for a full list of changes.

Swarm stat balancing (i.e. swarm skill tree, swarm pool issues, etc.) will begin later today and I plan on having a testing period soon after for that.

Hey Everyone!

Update Feedback
So major changes have been happening on the Morbus server in the last few weeks. The largest change came thanks to Demonkush who generously gave us a new update (Morbus 1.5.6.) for us to use on Tectonic Gaming Morbus Server.

With this update there came many new features including; weapons, perks, and gameplay addons (See Change Log[www.tectonic-gaming.com] for brief rundown). With such a large add on comes issues of balancing and configuration.

In the coming weeks I will be testing and implementing changes to the Morbus server. With this update, the top issue that needs resolving right now is gameplay balancing. With a new swarm skill tree, and new weapons the win/loss ratio on the server is very uneven. Currently, aliens on the server are winning 85-95% of the time because of added advantages that came with the update. If anyone wants to help improve the balancing and gameplay on the Morbus server feel free to message me or post your suggestions here.

New Map Suggestions
In addition we are working on adding to the map rotation on the server which has always been relatively limited because of lack of map creators for Morbus. Recently it has come to my attention that ANY Garry’s Mod and/or Counterstrike Map can be modified to work in the Morbus Gamemode. If anyone has any suggestions for maps ideas that fit the atmosphere for Morbus post them in the Morbus Map Suggestions[www.tectonic-gaming.com] thread.

The main goal in the coming weeks/months is to try to implement further changes through discussions/suggestions of both those part of the community and those who are new to the gamemode of Morbus.

Hey everybody,

State of the Community
This community has seen great change over the last two months, most notably in rules and their enforcement. While many older members of Tectonic were skeptical, the community has demonstrated that they are still capable of operating within, admittedly, more relaxed rules while still maintaining an environment that is fun and friendly. With that, I believe it is fair to say that the rules and enforcement experiment has been successful - not just because of the exceptional administrative staff, but also because of the community members who have decided to make Tectonic their home.

The exact state of funding of Tectonic has been subject to many shrouds. It is my intention to make these numbers a lot clearer and more accessible. As of this post, we have [color=green]$105.31 and we need $477.59 by May 2, 2015. Currently I am working with Shymapler in designing a new VIP page which would hopefully make it clear what you will gain from donating to us. May 2 is a long ways away, however I am still interested in fundraising ideas. I believe that the streaming donation event that we had was a great success and I would be interested in hosting another one. I will probably start taking volunteers and I aim to plan it for either in March of April.

Currently, s0llux and I are working on the logistics of the new forum system. I unfortunately cannot give a timeline, however the main forums will go down during the time we are making the move. I will post more on this when it happens.

Recognitions
First off, I would like to formally recognize Miekichi and Shymapler for having been selected as TTT leaders. Both of them have been with the community since around when I joined and they have time and time again proven themselves to be exceptionally wonderful administrators and people. Since they were both appointed, they also done an amazing job getting TTT server up and moving as well as managing staff and other issues that have come up.

I would also like to recognize Canti and Sir P for being given enhanced coder privileges in order to better facilitate their work. Both Canti and Sir P have been tirelessly making tweaks to existing gameplay as well as adding new content for the benefit of everybody. Please if you see any of them on the server, please do not hesitate to thank them for their work. I also highly suggest using the TTT Feedback[www.tectonic-gaming.com] section in order to better assist them.

And lastly, I would like to recognize DemonKush, who has graciously donated his modified version of Morbus for us to use. DemonKush has provided a wonderful upgrade to the Morbus server and I highly encourage all of you check it out at some point. In addition to that, CoolHandWhiz and the rest of the Morbus staff have done an outstanding job assisting DemonKush and I with the integration as well as rebalancing of the new update. There will be some changes to TTT that involve various things including the point system and the general weapon system. These changes are NOT binding and are subject to constructive feedback. I cannot stress enough how important feedback will be during this process as we will work to adjust the changes according to the feedback.
