I dislike how everyone is hating on NMS simply because it wasn't finished in time, now yeah, I do feel like they should've waited, but they aren't an AAA studio with 200+ people working on the game. So 15 people trying to push out a good title in the time it takes Activision to push out the next (crappy) COD isn't going to work. Activision has over 4k people, so pushing out the next COD could take 6 months or less. Yeah, I understand NMS is half baked, so let them put it back in the oven and finish the cake, then add the icing, wait awhile, the time it actually takes for them to make the FINISHED game, and then go back and play. Consider this a Paid Open Beta. The real game comes with time and support from fans. Not every game is perfect and the expectations have risen so high that many indie game devs can't really keep up to it.
"If you're charging $60 it better be the best game that ever was." is the new standard

That's not how it's supposed to be, now $60 is quite a bit, I think they should've chopped that in half just because of how buggy the pc port is, and they should've taken time to test it. They didn't delay longer because they were hoping to avoid huge backlash from fans but in doing so got an even worse backlash. but with such a small studio and such a big fanbase, it's hard to get things right in such a short time. so again, GIVE THEM TIME. THIS IS A PAID OPEN
