Area 1 Changes
  • Up to six jurors will be added to the case doc before the trial begins.
  • The jury members will watch over the case, only speaking about the case/deliberating in {curly brackets like this} in the OOC chat.
  • After the final cross-examination, the judge will ask the jury one by one whether they think the defendant is guilty or not guilty.
  • The jurors will give one statement that summarizes why they claim the defendant is guilty or not guilty.
  • The judge will then allow the defense a chance try to convince the jurors who think the defendant is guilty to change their mind by cross-examining their statements. This is known as the Closing Argument.
  • Afterward, the prosecution will have their own Closing Argument with the jurors that think the defendant is not guilty.
  • At the end of the Closing Argument, the judge will ask the jurors what their opinion is again.
  • The juror's decisions are now final, and judge will deliver the verdict decided on by their choices.
  • In the event of a tie (if there are an even amount of jurors), the judge will act as a tiebreaker and give his opinion of the case.
Seem simple enough? It may seem like a lot to take in at first, but the process is actually quite smooth and easy. Let us know what you think of the jury system! Criticism is always accepted.
