Mods are such an important part of PC gaming, and are one of the main reasons why older games such as Counter-Strike and the Half-Life series are still played by thousands of people every day. Whether its an individual map, skin, custom game mode, sound mod or even a total conversion / remake, there are hundreds of modders out their working tirelessly to bring you new and unique content free of charge!

However all too often these awesome people get taken for granted, and sometimes even exploited (as we've seen with the recent paid modding saga)!

We feel its about time that these guys get the recognition they deserve! That's why we've teamed up with our buddies at ModDB and Curse to launch the first ever Mod Appreciation Week (#ModLove2015)! To thank modders for their incredible contributions to our games and encourage more developers to keep their platforms open and mod friendly.

We want you to help spread the word by telling others about your favorite mod, or game that supports modding! Plus as an added incentive we've got over 500 CD-Keys for mod friendly games to give away to people who join in!

Simply tell someone about your favorite Map, Skin, GameMode, Sound, Script.. or any other type of mod! Then post in our thread here[gamebanana.com].

You can use Facebook, Twitter, Email, Steam chat, Reddit, Tumblr, or make a YouTube videos, forum post or Blog! As long as you help us spread the word and notify us in the thread you'll be entered into the prize draw!

Valve have today announced that a new version of the Source Engine, will be heading our way soon!

In a press release issued today Valve have announce that they will be showing off a previously unannounced piece of VR hardware alongside it's Steam Machines and finalized Steam Controller at the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco next week.

Not only this but Valve are actively seeking developers (and community members!) to create content with their VR kit.
