Omega Arcade is moving hosts!

Why is this happening?
Recently a new hosting service began operating within my state of residence and they offer a far better deal than the current host. The cost is lower and the locality of the host makes administration easier allowing for better simpler maintenance and expansion.

When is this happening?
I cannot guarantee any exact date as to when stuff will be back online, but I estimate around 1-2 months from now.

Why is the server offline during this transition?
2 reasons factor into this.

Hosting of Omega Arcade has always been paid out of pocket and rather expensive. With TF2's popularity dwindling, it has been difficult to justify renewal at the current host's price.
The new host is currently undergoing construction so knowing exactly when service will be online is unknown, thus I'm unable to determine the best renewal contract for the current host.

What is this whimsical new host?
Google Fiber Business!

Is there anything else I should know?
Since the server is moving, I'll currently be open to suggestions for changes when the server is set back up. Note that expansion SHOULD be easier under the new host so if you have any suggestions for that, now is the time to voice 'em. If you have any suggestions of any kind, you should create a group discussion detailing them.

Omega Arcade Meets Its Match

As many of you are probably aware, the most recent TF2 update Meet Your Match was just released. As with many large TF2 updates, this one has broken custom server stuff. In particular this update broke a critical extension used to run a lot of the custom plugins on the server, and will likely lead to at least upgrade stations and certain RTD effects disappearing temporarily.

Ah, I remember the honourable Asplundh family... Many good moments were had here. In fact, I must thank this server for some of the best memories I've had in TF2 and for directly (and indirectly) presenting me to several great friends I would never have met without it.

This server was home to my best online gaming memories. It was responsible for most of the social interactions I had for a few rough years in early adolescence. Honestly, not sure I would be here today if it weren't for this server and the lovely people who frequented it. I (vaguely) remember being an ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ to the owner (who, to be fair, didn't like me because people thought it was my server lol) which I highly regret now. Thanks for paying for all the experiences.
