Some of you may have noticed a new announcement box added to The main archive website[potato.tf]. These announcements are meant to keep non-discord members up-to-date, as well as announce minor stuff that we don't want to clog the discord announcement channel with.

With valve breaking group event notifications, and announcements breaking as soon as we launched GG, this announcement box on the archive site will be the most up-to-date source for what's currently happening in the community.

We're currently looking for more map/mission judges. If you're experienced with mapping, mission making, or just playing MvM in general, don't hesitate to apply!

The dozen or so people who follow these announcements, but are not a member of our Discord[discord.gg], may have noticed a distinctive lack of announcements/general updates to the group since GG beta. This is because:

• With the new UI overhaul, valve at some point broke posting steam group announcements entirely, this happened right as we were launching GG, hence why the open beta post is the last one you see. I don't even know if it's been fixed until I press "post announcement" on this post you are reading now.
  
  
• Valve also 100% broke the already semi-broken event notification system. Older steam users will remember what event notifications are, and how they were the equivalent of a discord @everyone ping for every group member. There used to be a trick to get group events to send that we used to gather players, but the new UI overhaul broke this too.

Thanks to valves lack of support for steam groups, and zero initiative to actually modernize it, this group is effectively a giant pile of ~28k steam users with no real utility besides map/mission submissions, something that is already painful thanks to valve's extremely antiquated forum/discussion page moderation tools

Another reminder to join the discord if you actually want updates/announcements regarding Potato, the steam group has always been an unreliable buggy mess, and the new UI has now made it completely worthless.
