This one is a bit of a more standard bullet hell game than Vampire REX: shoot enemies; dodge/graze bullets; slow mode and bombs. Grazing bullets charges a special attack which can be deployed at the right moment for a good spike of damage, this adds a little spice to the usual "hold down shoot" offensive nature of these games.

Being a rather standard bullet hell is not a bad thing however, the presentation is excellent, the art is lovely, it has voice acting and the music is just outstandingly, face-meltingly good.

If you like Bullet Hell, get this.

I love bullet hell games, and alot of them can be quite samey. Thankfully not this one. Vampire REX uses a light/dark polarity system in the vein of Ikaruga: where only bullets of the opposite polarity can kill you, and simultaneously you deal great damage to enemies of the opposite polarity. This makes for some almost puzzle like battles and requires a heck of a lot of concentration, swapping your polarity at just the right moment. If you like bullet hell games, this one is worth the money. Also, like any good shooter, it has some great music.

Great gameplay, incredible soundtrack and an amazing story with execution and presentation that's second to none with a powerful ending.

This is a game with so much heart it can only have come from the Indy scene, and truly makes you realize what kind of tales the interactive medium is capable of telling.

If you're still on the fence about it, I just can't recommend it enough

If you're not put off by the anime style, this game is immensely fun and addictive (and so darned cute), highly recommended.
