I honest to god don't know what the deal is with this game. I enjoyed playing this game on Battle.Net before it arrived onto Steam and once it went onto Steam, I picked it up on sale and enjoyed it all over again. Until one day, after a GeForce driver update, my name was mysteriously found inappropriate upon booting up the game. So I changed it and moved on with the game again and would jump back and forth between this and the then-other popular CoD game, MWII. After another GPU driver update, my name was once again found inappropriate, preventing me from playing the game. Funny thing was, no other CoD game issued me this error, it was solely Cold War that was throwing a fit. And now I genuinely don't know what to do. I've tried installing the game on another computer and it still gives me the error, I've looked for help on forums and other places only to get nothing and find that others have encountered the same problem, I've even bought the latest CoD (MWIII) and once again, no issues with my name in that game, only with Cold War. My only choice left is to go back to the Battle.Net version that I own which funnily enough, ACTUALLY WORKS 100%! No naming bugs whatsoever, meaning that somehow, the connection that the Steam version itself has to the Activision servers is busted, and I honest to god don't know what.
And sure enough, thru MW2019, I was able to restore my name with no problems and STILL the only game that gets triggered, is the Steam version of this. Battle.net still works flawlessly.

I am constantly looking for a solution to this problem and maybe once I get SOMETHING. LITERALLY ANYTHING. Then I will change my outlook/review on all of this, but until then, I say screw Activision for wasting my time and patience on what shouldn't even be an issue in the first place. Buyers beware!

A great throwback to the mid-to-late 2000's and an amazing look at a source of influence for Portal 2, although my god, could they not have done any modern QoL patches to this?! Barely any adjustment options, unstable performance across the board... Still I'd check it out if none of that fazes you.

I forgot this game existed. Why is this still here and how has it not received legal action.

>TMW first playthrough I immediately get earblasted with a racial slur from a 10-year old ( ͠° ͟ʖ ͡°)

Aside from constantly getting lost/disoriented, holy hell is this amazing! Lunging into everyone and thrashing shift about is incredibly addicting. The power-ups/upgrades are also exciting to grab. It almost feels like Super Metroid if Samus were a John Carpenter-esque mutated monster-of-the-week!

A beautiful Source Engine game that may be dated in several aspects by today's standards, but is still a fun read. A shame that there aren't any sequels as planned by Ritual. An additional plus is that this comes with the first SiN game plus its deathmatch mode. But on the downside, the version of the first SiN is censored compared to the original game, so it's recommended that you purchase (or download) the first game from a separate place...

EDIT: This review was made before Nightdive fixed everything. God bless.

A tough as nails, but fun mod! Entropy : Zero (I'm assuming that the colon placement is a typo....) is a free mod for Half-Life 2 and its Episodes in which you play as a Duke Nukem-esque Metrocop in City 10. There are many mods that place you into the role of a Combine Soldier (such as Combine Destiny), but this is much better than those. I admit the game has its flaws (like the invisible Barnacle tongue glitch), but besides that, it was still a very lovely experience. Probably my favorite section was when I had to escort a Stalker down a corridor so not only could they let me out, but they restored my flashlight. It was very frantic, and horrifying with the Zombies flying at you from the darkness, relying only on the Stalker's lamp and the flares you could find all over the ground. It was likely the Elevator wait sequence from Episode One, only much darker and with less light sources (i.e. no flashlight). The ambience was also lovely and the soundtrack is filled with amazing music. Whether it be covers of Kelly Bailey's work, remixes of Kelly Bailey's work, or even original music that feels almost Episode Three in style, it's all perfect for this. My favorite is the remix of Episode Two's Extinction Event Horizon.

All in all, it was quite a tough, yet beautifully haunting experience and is worth checking out.

Also, be sure to remember that the game automatically defaults to a "Hard" difficulty upon first startup.

Imagine if you will, Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon and Half-Life having a love child. The end result is Half-Life: C.A.G.E.D. An excellent, albeit short mod made by former Valve Employee, Cayle George. It is amazing, from the visual style, to the 80's-styled music (thanks to Lazerhawk), to the "Prison Break" premise, to the Boat getaway, everything about this mod is awesome. I cannot recommend this mod enough. The only real complaint I have is that it is short, being only 4 Chapters long, spread across 9 maps (but then again a lot of mods that come out these days [HL2: Downfall] are pretty short...).

Basically it's SMOD, Half-Life 2: Survivor, Half-Life 2, and the Half-Life 2 Beta Leak of 2003 all thrown into a single mod. It's really fun killing the endless waves of enemies that come at you. I wish the multiplayer was supported more, and that there were new maps rather than recycled Half-Life 2: Deathmatch levels (and it would be nice to fix enemy spawn glitches on these maps). I really hope more support is added in the future, such as the jump to the in-development SMOD 3 engine...

A standalone Source engine game, Estranged: Act I attempts to create a unique storyline with breathtaking details. Originally a mod for Half-Life 2: Episode Two, Estranged has finally been released onto Steam as a standalone game, so you don't need any other games in order to play it. The game even adds assets from games such as Counter-Strike: Source and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive showing that the team really went out of their way to make this masterpiece. So far, I am enjoying Act II's public alpha, however I wish that Act II still used the Source Engine, but unfortunately it had hindered development too much...
