I found it odd that every leader of every civilization never changes until I realized that playing this game stunts your ability to get caught up on recent events.

Bought game for TF2 items and so I don't waste more than $5 on something luck-based I don't even know how to play.

Stayed for the dialogue.

I could call the tournament rigged, with Tycho having unusual luck, but the only people who complain about rigged gambling are the losers.

10/10 Better than actual gambling (only costs $5 for some neat little entertainment).

The Don't Starve: Shipwrecked is more of an alternative mode with heavy focus on exploration rather than an expansion to basic Don't Starve, as there are different mechanics and alternative creatures. The DLC is worth it for $5, as you will get a good 20+ potential hours with all of the new content.

Subjective Con(s):

  • Flint abundance: This may just be bad luck, but flint is extremely rare on my spawn beach or jungle biome. I can find seashells fine, but flint is very elusive. Remember that I can't mine rocks without a pickaxe, which requires flint. I resorted to pressing "~" and typing "c_spawn("flint",20)" (something along those lines) to get some flint.

  • Lack of World customization: I know it's coming soon , so be patient. I'm just telling potential buyers.

  • Lack of abundant, hostile sealife: Also coming soon considering it's Early Access , but Shipwrecked only seems to have ~7 hostile sea creatures that appear abundantly in the later game. Swordfish are usually the most threatening mob out at sea.

I have an idea for a preset: Shipwrecked+/Default Plus (SW):

    • Chests with:
    • Flint
    • Grass Tufts
    • Dug Saplings
    • Seashells
    • Boards
    • Meat
    • Logs for a log raft
    • Electrical Doodads (RoG exclusive)
    • Gold
    • Miscellaneous tools
    • Resources are extremely sparse.
    • Islands are smaller but more diverse with biomes (biomediversity? Envirodiversity and biodiversity?)
    • Hurricane Season (Winter equivalent) is very long.
    • Mild Season (Autumn equivalent, default) is shorter.
    • More monsters
    • Other starting items.

(probably not going to get implemented) workshop modders please

I feel like some aquatic boss mobs should be added (boss monsters are the RoG giants and treeguards), as there is only one unique Shipwrecked boss, the Palm Treeguard.

    Here are my ideas:

    • Water strider
    • Lives in deep ocean
    • Neutral until provoked
    • Senses movement
    • Health: ~1400
    • Will pursue you if provoked even if you are on land
    • Gives an item enabling you to walk on shallow water

    • Cephalopod
    • Has 8-10 purple tentacles which behave much like the Marsh Tentacles
    • Spawns in deep ocean
    • Neutral until provoked
    • Tentacle health: 250
    • Head is weak point
    • Head resists damage
    • Head health: ~700

    • Loch Ness-Plesiosaur hybrid
    • Spawns in foggy (edge of world), deep ocean
    • Only head is visible
    • Hostile
    • Health: ~1400

    • Lungfish
    • Spawns in shallow water
    • Health: 100
    • Passive

  • Horseshoe crab
  • Lives in shallow water
  • Neutral until provoked
  • Health: 100
  • Drops seashells

  • Cthulu
  • Upon examination of Cthulu, the character's maximum sanity is set to 1 (akin to resurrection lowering the maximum health).
  • Immune to 100.1% damage dealt to him
  • Health: -0.01
  • If killed via console or mods, the game will cut to a a dim screen with nothing but waves. The game cannot be closed via Alt + F4 or Task Manager, and your mouse is focred to stay in the corner of the screen. Nothing else will happen.
  • Has a 1/9999 chance to appear if insane for more than 15 minutes at sea every second

I just wanna see some big sea monsters. These are just my ideas though, and I like to keep it vague.

Summary: A DLC that offers and alternative Don't Starve mode. The DLC is fun, but I get unlucky. I would recommend.

Rebirth is a top-down roguelike, with 340+ items compared to Binding of Isaac: Wrath of the Lamb 's 190+, more synergies (Death's Touch, Inner Eye, and Parasite synergize well), a better engine, and hours of content to unlock. I recommend WotL as a demo prior to buying Rebirth, as you want to feel good using $14.99 (or less on sales).

Note: Not for the easily offended.

*splat*

Super Meat Boy is a platformer where your protagonist can only sprint (very fast) and jump. The controls are good and make the game easy, though I recommend using a controller. A wireless Xbox controller hooked up with one of those receivers is good, but I use a SteelSeries 3GC, which has a turbo (making all of the characters "skid" as if they had a limp, as well as making Naija randomly glitch with her "shift attack").
All of the levels take between 5-45 seconds to complete, meaning no 15 minute marathons where one mistake makes you start everything over, and you could make it though a level on your first attempt with no deaths, provided you are skilled enough. There is no random trial-and-error areas which require past deaths to realize your mistakes. All of your deaths are your fault, be it you not being used to difficult level design, lack of skill, or you using a keyboard.
All of the bosses are either
  • Races/Courses
  • Verticle Courses/Races
  • Pattern Based
  • A boss that you kill through inaction Unless you count dropping Dr. Fetus into a pit Bowser style (good room design there, Dr. Fetus) , luring, dodging, or racing.
The biggest issue I have with the game is the use of narrow jumps. Some controllers can't make said jumps very easily. However, narrow jumps are very rare (unless you are on Super Meat World).
Tip: Don't go on Super Meat World levels that:
  • Use the Kid, as using the Kid seems to be an excuse to make levels impossible to SMW users.
  • Use the Forest obstacles, as they tend to be randomly placed obstacles that either kill you with a saw right where you spawn or make you win instantly.

A guide on how to defeat Super Meat Boy bosses

tl;dr: A good platforming game that you should get a controller for. It is brutal but fair and all the levels could be completed on your first try, Grade A+ and no deaths, provided you were skilled enough. It is not Kaizo Mario.
