Originally if you would have asked me if I like this game or not, I would have never recommended it. But after many years of patches and content releases, balance changes, etc, the game has actually aged into a pretty strong Quake title.

The game looks great, which is a huge plus for me with all the old weapons from all games being added in a modern style. The game feels great, it used to run really bad for me but now I am at 180 with 0 drops. The gameplay is responsive and snappy, feedback on damage you do is great, the feedback on damage you take could be a bit better though. The hero shooter mechanics they added are totally fine now, I don't get nuked by Sorlag like the good ol days anymore.

The only real downsides I can think of with this game now are the small community. Some people I have encountered have been very toxic, especially a user named "Quake4god". It sucks to see that in a game with a community of 200~ people or less.

Overall, a game that I am happy to say has aged really well, and I am going to play much much more of.
