Haven't finished this yet, but I think it should be nominated for best soundtrack. The music is great.

It's the story of Mafia 1 with the gameplay of Mafia 2. No repetitive open world mechanics like in Mafia 3. I like the character design and voice acting of the original more, but other than that it's a good remake. They even kept the race appropriately difficult.

Nothing special gameplay-wise and quite janky at times. But I still come back to play this now 13-year-old game every now and then because the characters are great and the game's style is so good.

There aren't many games in which you really play an "anti-hero" who deserves that title. Kane and Lynch, though, are bad guys and there aren't really any redeemable qualities about them. Visually, the game is heavily inspired by Michael Mann films and the plot, in which the protagonists screw up over and over again, is entertaining, even though it sometimes jumps a little too quickly to the next location.

Graphically, the game was already trashed back in 2007, as far as I remember, but I always found that a little unjustified. The way the shootouts leave the environment in ruins is beautiful. Gunshots leave wounds in bodies and the engine can show an impressive number of characters at the same time on screen. The Tokyo chapter (including a crowded night club) is still fantastic to play and to look at.

Still a recommendation for anyone who wants to play an unapologetically dark crime drama.

It's no longer fixed camera/tank control Resident Evil, but this is as close as you can get with translating the old gameplay into the more "modern" over-the-shoulder Resident Evil.

I would recommend playing in "hardcore mode", which "oldschool mode" would be a more fitting name for. It scraps the auto save system and makes you rely on ink ribbons to save, just like in the classic Resident Evil games. There are enough ink ribbons and type writers that you should never lose too much progress (again, just like in the old games), but it makes the game significantly more terrifying.

The graphics are really beautiful. This looks like I remember the FMV cutscenes from the original game (in reality, this looks way better than those cutscenes). It also performs very well and it seems like it no longer uses Denuvo. No reason to not buy it at this point, if you like Resident Evil.

I really hope they will not go through with remaking the first game (again) and will do Code Veronica or Dino Crisis next.

Was kind of hard to get into at first because, gameplay-wise, I expected a retro shooter. This is its own, fairly modern thing, though. I gave it another try since Doom Eternal just came out and after playing through it, I now think it's probably one of the best shooters in recent years. Gonna play Eternal now.

Achtung Scam

Absolute Frechheit: Ein prominent auf der Store-Page beworbenes Feature hat es aus Zensurgründen nicht in die deutsche Version geschafft. Den Hinweis, dass die deutsche Version gekürzt ist, hat man erst klammheimlich Wochen nach Release eingefügt, nachdem sich mehrere deutsche Spieler über die Zensur beschwert hatten. Hier hat man bewusst deutsche Käufer betrogen, indem man ihnen vorgegaukelt hat, sie würden eine ungekürzte Version kaufen. Wird auf jeden Fall gemeldet.

Blood is a cult classic, no need to say any more about it.

This version is not a port or remaster, it is a very accurate remake, instead. While that's impressive, it could mean that real Blood enthusiasts might see some minor differences compared to the original.

Glaring issues that were present in the beginning have been fixed by now, as far as I can tell.

I'm used to this being a minor update from year to year. Some people might find it stupid to buy mostly cosmetic updates like this every year, but whatever. It's kind of my guilty pleasure. But what they did this year is just mind-blowing (in a bad way). First of all: Why is the PRE-ORDER BONUS ("The Fiend") not available until October 29? What the hell? lol

I tried playing three matches so far. It ended like this:

First match: Hell in a Cell. I glitch out of the Cell and can't get back in. I have to quit the match.

Second match: Iron Man. Oh, you can no longer set the time yourself and are forced to play 15 minute "iron man matches"? That's how long a normal match should be. I quit the match.

Third match: Falls count anywhere. FINALLY, I can finish the matc- oh wait, the game crashes to Desktop after the three count. Nice.

This needs A LOT of patching to be at least on par with the previous games.

Edit: You actually can change the time for Iron Man matches. You have to create a custom match mode in order to do that.

Looks very promising so far - like a modernized version of Postal 2, but it's in VERY early access right now. Buy only if you want to support the development and don't expect much of an enjoyable game yet.

Until RWS make some progress with the development, keep shooting up their office in Postal 2.

Good game, feels like playing a legit Deus Ex. Gives you many ways to solve situations. Director's Cut incorporates the Missing Link DLC, which is great. It also gives you new ways to beat bosses, so you're not forced to face them head-on like you were in the original version.

Unfortunately, people complained about the gold-tinted look of the original, so they removed it from the director's cut without an option to turn it back on. This makes the game look very boring and hurts the atmosphere. It also doesn't fit the look of the unaltered pre-rendered FMVs. I used a SweetFX profile to emulate the original look as close as possible.
