Elite Dangerous & Odyssey: An Experience That Feels Like Home in the Stars

Elite Dangerous is a game that I never realized I needed until I started playing it. Right from the get-go, it felt like stepping into a living, breathing galaxy—an experience that goes so far beyond just a space game. Frontier Developments has crafted a sprawling universe that’s immersive, challenging, and constantly evolving. I’ve spent countless hours flying through the cosmos, and with the Odyssey DLC, it’s become an entirely different kind of adventure.

The Universe Awaits

The scale of Elite Dangerous is just mind-blowing. This isn’t just some set of random space systems—it’s a 1:1 scale of the Milky Way with more planets, stars, and moons than I could explore in a lifetime. But it’s more than just the scope; there’s a sense of life in the universe that makes every corner feel unique and significant. Whether you’re getting into tense combat, trading resources, or taking on missions for various factions, every choice you make has an impact. The politics, the economy, the stories… you can truly carve out your own journey here.

Odyssey: Stepping into the Unknown

When Odyssey was announced, I didn’t think being able to step outside my ship would add that much. I was wrong. The first time I walked on a planet, actually seeing the alien landscape stretch before me, was honestly magical. It’s one thing to explore the galaxy from the safety of your ship’s cockpit; it’s something else entirely to feel the crunch of alien soil under your feet. Odyssey brings planets with atmospheres, missions on foot, and a whole new perspective on exploration. I’ve gone from blasting pirates in dogfights to sneaking around on foot to complete contracts, and it all feels so seamless.

Exobiology: Discovering Life Beyond Earth

One of my favorite parts of Odyssey has to be the exobiology aspect. Frontier introduced the idea of cataloging alien life forms, and it’s as satisfying as it sounds. With my trusty scanner, I’m constantly on the lookout for weird and wonderful plants on alien worlds. There’s a real thrill in finding something truly alien, taking a sample, and adding it to my logs. It’s a small thing, but there’s something deeply satisfying about becoming a “space botanist” in this game, giving a purpose to exploration that I didn’t know I needed.

Visuals and Atmosphere

This game doesn’t just look beautiful—it sounds incredible, too. Flying close to a star, walking across alien terrain, or just docking at a station… everything feels designed to immerse you fully. The graphics are stunning, especially on Odyssey, with atmospheric lighting that changes as you move across different planets. There’s nothing quite like watching a sunset on some distant world or seeing the glow of a nebula in the distance. And the audio? It’s subtle but so effective. Every whirr, beep, and hum adds to the feeling of really being out there.

A Community That Feels Like Family

If I’ve learned one thing, it’s that the Elite Dangerous community is as committed as the game itself. There are groups dedicated to exploration, player-run events, alliances, and factions. This community brings the universe to life in ways that I hadn’t expected. I’ve met players who have been on months-long expeditions to explore the galaxy’s outer reaches, others who work to keep systems safe from pirates, and plenty of friendly pilots who’ll lend a hand to newbies like me.

Final Thoughts

For anyone who’s even a little curious about space, Elite Dangerous is something you have to try. And with Odyssey, it’s a whole new game—more alive, more immersive, and more rewarding than ever before. The first-person exploration, exobiology, and variety of mission types add layers to a game that was already enormous. It’s not just about playing a game; it’s about feeling like you’re truly a part of this universe, one small piece of an enormous, ever-changing galaxy. Highly recommend it to anyone who’s ready to lose themselves among the stars.

God of War Ragnarök – A Masterpiece Worth Every Second

I just finished my journey through God of War Ragnarök on PC, and not only did I beat it—I went all in and platinumed it. And let me tell you, it was absolutely worth it.

From the very first moment, the game pulls you in with its breathtaking visuals, smooth combat, and a story that hits hard. The PC port is phenomenal—buttery smooth performance, crisp textures, and all the graphical settings you could ask for. Playing at high frame rates with maxed-out settings made an already stunning game feel even better.

The combat? Chef’s kiss. It refines everything from 2018’s God of War and makes it faster, smoother, and more brutal. Switching between the Leviathan Axe and the Blades of Chaos never gets old, and the new abilities and weapon mechanics add so much depth. And the boss fights? Incredible. Some of the best in the series, hands down.

But what really sets Ragnarök apart is its storytelling. The emotional weight, the character development, the way Kratos and Atreus evolve—it’s all just next level. I won’t spoil anything, but there were moments that straight-up had me staring at my screen in shock.

Platinuming the game was a grind, but it never felt like a chore. Every side quest, every challenge, every hidden secret felt meaningful. If you’re on the fence about playing this on PC, don’t be. It’s hands down one of the best games ever made, and now that it’s on PC, there’s no excuse to miss it.

The only downside is using the Frame Generation whenever i went into the menu to my skills, weapons etc.. and when i exited out of it back to the game the screen would start flickering and the game would run in like 1 FPS the only way to fix that is either turning off FG or reload a save (hope this helps)

10/10 – An absolute must-play.
