A short review cannot encapsulate the joy that is this game. Quality I haven't seen in a long time. If you enjoy deep characters, story, customization, and lore, pick this one up for sure.

Dont waste your time or money. I got this game for free and it still wasn't worth it. I only play it here and there now because I don't have much else to play FPS wise and I question my choice every time. The game crashes constantly, its plagued by bugs and performance issues, and the devs genuinely don't care about their product. Couple that with the predatory microtransactions and complete evisceration of any coherent art style or verisimilitude (people running around as bunnies, rats, covered in lightning) and its just a mess. I could go on and on but its tiring. Tiring to play, tiring to think about, and tiring to write about. Just don't.

Let me preface this by saying that I DO enjoy the game and think that it's quite fun, and that visually it is stunning. Unfortunately I cannot in good conscience recommend the game to anybody at the time of writing this. Cyberpunk 2077 has some truly stunning set pieces, with a decent and intriguing story set in an interesting world, but when it comes down to gameplay it falls flat. Riddled with crashes and numerous bugs ranging from minor inconvenience to out-right game breaking, it can be difficult to play without thinking that it wasn't ready to be released. While some of these issues will no doubt be addressed in future patches, some issues lie at the core of the game and are most likely unfixable at this point in time.

While the world is huge and dense with NPCs, a closer look reveals it to be hollow and devoid of substance. Little to no interaction with the environment or the people supposedly inhabiting in leaves it feeling like a tech-demo more than a game, and the NPCs themselves hardly interact with the world as well which further breaks the immersion. AI pathing is near nonexistent, with cars and drivers have pre-set pathways that they will not deviate from, regardless of being shot in the head or having a car parked in front of them. AI will also disappear in an instant should you turn around, and police will simply spawn behind you, even when inside of a building with a single entrance.

Cyberpunk 2077 also lacks customization despite being touted as an RPG, notably one with an emphasis on modification and fashion. No barber shops, plastic surgeons, or even the ability to change your characters makeup, be prepared to play the entire game with the same hairstyle and look as once you hit finalize on the character creation screen, that's it. Clothing is also limited with no way to transfer stats from one item to another, and with no cosmetic slots you will often need to make a choice between looking the way you want versus having decent equipment.

The game also has some problematic elements when it comes to representation and identity, tying your character's gender to whether you picked a masculine or feminine voice, completely ignoring the variation in human vocals in the real world. A small amount of romance options exist but are tied to specific combinations of body parts and voices means that for some players, only one or two will be possible at any given time.

While not PC specific, CD Projekt Red also displayed shady business practices before the launch of the game, refusing to showcase or give out any review copies for the console versions of the game, as well as make reviewers use B-roll footage supplied to them by CDPR themselves. This attempt at hiding the true state of the game until it launched is deceptive and deceitful and should make you raise an eyebrow about why they continued with their plans to launch an obviously unfinished game.

Ultimately, I will continue to play it, and the game DOES have it's merits, but I don't feel comfortable telling anyone to buy it until it has had major, major work and polish done to it.

Don't let my number of hours fool you. I've been playing this since 2006 and it is still going strong to this day. Plenty of content for new and returning players with one of the best questing systems I've seen in an MMO. Interesting and engaging storylines along with top-notch humor make questing fun and generally not a chore to do. Coupled with great rewards and upgrades to help push your character further and a load of weapons and armor as well as 25+ skills will give you thousands of hours of enjoyment.

Unbalanced heroes
Unbalanced matchmaking
Toxic playerbase

I got to rep (prestige) 5 and have been playing a ton in the past few weeks and I can honestly say that I feel worse for having had done so. The game has a fun premise and some genuinely fun mechanics. Some OK customization keeps you at the grind, and the characters themselves are interesting and unique. The game falls apart however once you get past the "cool factor" and realize just how unbalanced everything is. Poor matchmaking means being put up against full teams of 100+ rep players with thousands of hours of experience. Poor character balance means that characters are constantly being reworked and broken over and over again, introducing new characters that break the entire flow of the game.

When everything works right and you are matched against opponents of similar skill, it can be fun, but those experiences are many hours apart and you will find yourself constantly frustrated at the otherwise poor game experience.

Very enjoyable with friends, and you will probably spend a big chunk of your time trying to drag each other to your deaths. Levels are interesting and unique, and provide multiple ways to complete them.

Deus Ex is the gritty cyberpunk future that we are getting closer to everyday, and while the game is dated and may be somewhat difficult to get into, it still stands as one of the best FPSRPG's of all time. Deus Ex takes you into a world of corruption and secrecy, filled with conspiracy theories and global conglomerates breathing down the necks of various nations and their people. It features a fleshed out world full of detail and intrigue, with heavy story telling scattered throughout dialogue, various emails, and locations.

If you have yet to play it, now's the time with the release of Deus Ex: Mankind Divided. Plus, there are plenty of mods that remaster the graphics and controllers, although nothing beats the original.

I bought this game for $15 through the Humble Bundle, and even that was too much for what is frankly, a broken mess of a game. Character balance is barely a thing, matchmaking might as well not exist, and the game is poorly optimized. There is a co-op campaign that will last you maybe 3-4 hours, but that's all as far as story content. Multiplayer has very few people playing, and it takes a long time to even get into matches. When you do get into a match however, be prepared to be matched against a fully stacked team of level 100 players, while your team is full of level 5s.

Pros
-Some witty humor here and there
-co-op missions can be fun with friends
-Lots of characters to choose from

Cons
-Characters are unbalanced, ranging from overwhelmingly powerful, to utterly useless
-Matchmaking is pretty much non-existent. Be prepared to get stomped almost every game
-Poor player count. Not a whole lot of players, so there will be long wait times for matches
-Extremely toxic community, or, what little of a "community" that there is in this game
-Co-op/Story mode is extremely short, only 8 missions
-Performance issues. Even on decent hardware expect issues
-No clear explanation of, well, anything.

Personal Opinons
-Character designs are...weird. Some are very cool, like Galilea, Phoebe, Rath, Pendles, Marquis, and Orendi. Others are borderline rediculous like Montana, El Dragon, Attikus, and Toby
-Microtransactions. They're all cosmetic, so I personally don't mind, but they are present.

Overall, I do not think Battleborn in its current state is worth $15, let alone the full $60 pricetag. If you really enjoy borderlands style art and humor, and really like MOBA games, then Battleborn might work for you, just don't expect a fair fight.
