As someone who has been simming for over 20 years and has a pilots license in the real world, I tried this title strictly out of curiosity. What I found is that as an instructional sim, this performs great, is stable, visually appealing, and gives great instruction for those new to the flight simulation genre. I look forward to the future developments by DTG and would encourage folks who are interested in learning the basics of aviation, to give this a try and complete the lessons. For existing simmers with $100's of dollars of addons, this is not the sim for you and thats what I see alot of the negative reviews based on.

Visually appealing? Really? Tell me one thing that is visually appealing in FSc? This review reeks of bias and reading the comments makes me understand why. Everyone is entitled to an opinion of course but you should say that you are affiliated with DTG - paid or not. I have seen your YT videos and they are also heavily biased towards DTG. This is not a review. It is a promo pitch.

Lol, just to be clear guys, DTG doesnt pay me a cent to review their products or cover them. I got access to the Alpha, which had me worried, but I am pleased with the final product. If you dont agree, thats fine, but please dont assume my compensation, because as I run an ad-free channel and make $0 from youtube, I have no interest in misleading the community. I gave a positive review to P3D v3, and Lockheed didnt pay me either. :-)

Wouldn't you expect to have instructional missions within any flight sim in the way that FSX already has? And from what I have seen if it is expected that this will drag newcomers away from their shoot-em-ups and the like then visually this falls well short.

I cannot help thinking that the rationale behind this release is to get some cash in quick. If it is intended to give a discount against the up-coming sim then that's fine but otherwise.....

Jordan makes some good points. As I said in my own first impressions for a new simmer, as a tool to get them into simulation, it's not that bad. The problem is the noise that was made saying that this is a glimpse into what the full sim would have. That instantly means you're going to sell a lot of units to an audience not suited to this title, just because they want to see what the new tech is like. From that perspective it's a big dissapointment.

And finally, yes Jordan - you really must disclose the fact that you are part of the Dovetail Ambassadors group and receive co-promotion from Dovetail when you cover their products.

Love the channel - keep up the great work.

I agree with Jordan. And, I've not been paid by YouTube, Dovetail or even Jordan. Don't buy this because you want outstanding graphics. For the price though, if it was an FSX add-on it would be reasonable I think.

from what i'm reading the game looks nothing like the trailer videos. MS Flight should have been the backbone of this sim since Dovetail bought the rights for the flight sis from MS.

i would say that should be the visual bar for flight sims to be measured by. i have this on y wishlist since i thought it would be like MS Flight but improved since they have DX12 now

Jordan, don't you think you should disclose to the Steam community your personal involvement in the project and the fact you are in Dovetails pocket? You're review is more misleading than your biased "news" site.

Are you the same Jordan King from youtube?? If so I am a subscriber and this post makes me disappointed. I know I know.. Can't please them all... I feel like you wrote this so you can secure a press copy of the full flight sim they are "developing". News flash! This is it!!! Just watch! There will be NO change to the actual sim. There will maybe be more aircraft and maybe some built in weather and texture from third parties. Youtube steals souls... come on man...
