I liked being a melee perk that was tanky with good survivability and had decent damage. The devs did not and took away my tanky and replaced it with like 3 guns for some reason. For reference I've played the game off and on since release. I've been through the like 4 or more nerfs to Berserker and I remember when the Helios rifle was a Berserker weapon for like a month.

It is VERY safe to say that they have to do my favorite perk RIGHT however they're planning on adding it for me to even consider buying kf3. No well done melee, no customer. Simple as.

If you're here for an actual opinion on the game, it's fun but the devs don't do anything with it anymore since they're making kf3.

Please do any other mode for events other than "Hide for 30-60 seconds at random intervals throughout the level" I'm actually begging you. I've legit almost fallen asleep during these when the enemy spawns fit perfectly between each "event" interval so I'm just stuck in place for several minutes at a time. My record is 12 minutes just stuck in place. Like I actually have turned on movies to pause while I play the game then just play the movie while I'm forced to hide.
Outside of events, the game is good though. The prime assets are neat and I like them(Coyle and Gooseberry. Not Franco. Manbaby with a teeth shotgun can stay in his own lane)

There's actually no way this game isn't a virus. Can't uninstall via steam or windows including control panel or even setting myself as the owner of the files. Can't delete manually. Too bad too because the game was decent while I played it.

Update: Game has "uninstalled" but every file is still on my computer..... hidden even from admin of course because that's a normal thing to do.

Uninstalled and removed from account(Was just uninterested in what I saw). Appeared back in my library, downloaded even if only partially, the following day.

Just play the 2nd one instead. That one is much more enjoyable despite the jank. I REALLY hate the time limit mechanic that reduces your max hp constantly AND takes up that part of your hp and that gets a chunk taken instantly when you take a hit. Not to mention the one enemy type that can and WILL do 30% of the whole timer(Your max hp) in one hit because why not I guess? "You messed up a single time now scrap the run I guess lol"
Makes me feel like I'm playing Dead Rising again. Gameplay isn't bad but the time limit is just terrible and ruins the whole experience because I'm too busy trying to manage that and speedrun rather than enjoy the game.
Like I wanted to enjoy the game but I just can't with this timer. Exact same issue I had with every Dead Rising game.

I waited about 7 years for this from when I played Dark Arisen and it was well worth the wait. Phenomenal game so far and I'd wager I'm not even 10% through yet. The dev team did a fantastic job of bringing this game back to life and especially with making the magic vocations feel so much better to play as well without making them feel overly easy for what they do so they keep that "can I cast this now or do I wait a moment?" approach. I also feel more like an archer now that Strider was separated into Archer and Thief instead of being combined. Feels just more fluid this way to me. I've tried probably half of the base vocations and haven't even unlocked the advanced vocations after Sorcerer and Warrior yet but I saw that magic bow in some guy's shop I know that's coming and I'm ready for it.
Absolutely in love with this game and I very much see myself playing this for a long while.

The game is in early access and you can feel it but honestly get the game if you think you might enjoy it. I don't usually go for these types of games but I don't regret picking up this game. So far loving every moment of it

IMPORTANT NOTE: If you get it on their website you can get base A Realm Reborn (ARR) and Heavensward on the free trial! There is no free trial option on steam to my knowledge so get it here if you plan on staying with it or just want it through steam! ALSO do not combine Steam and their website downloads! If you get one stick with it because you can't buy expansions from the website and use the code on your steam-client-linked launcher and vice-versa! From one of my friend's experience

Story: Genuinely one of the best stories I've had the pleasure of experiencing in games
Combat: Fluid and feels good no matter the job about 90% of the time
Class/Job Balance: Astoundingly good. Every single one is viable for all content
"gearscore": There's an ingame ilvl for gear but as long as you're at minimum required you can get into content and be effective. It just helps to be at the max a fight allows. Not many people gatekeep content parties on the Crystal datacenter at least from what I've seen so far
Toxicity: Of course there is some it's multiplayer and an mmo but nowhere near the level of WoW from my personal experience
Job diversity: Extreme. Wanna stand in one spot and cast forever with major damage? Black Mage. Wanna play a healer with an ability for any situation possible? Scholar. Want a melee dps that can function as a semi-viable tank in specific circumstances? Monk. Ranged dps that focuses on buffing the party's dps? Dancer. Tank that is 3 dps in a trenchcoat but can accidentally off themselves sometimes? Gunbreaker.
That's not even half of the jobs btw

Just remember! If you come into this game wanting to hate it that's exactly how you'll leave.
