The story is a colossal masterclass in the pantheon of great narrative-driven games. Compelling storytelling combined with stellar dialogue, scintillating locales, tremendously interactive random encounters, phenomenal attention to detail and incomparably prodigious graphics all epitomise an experience which can be considered a standard-bearer for transcending the video games industry forward to even more significant heights.

The story chronicles the disintegration of an outlaw crew amidst an era where outlaws are being chased out of this world and their inevitable demise is a foregone conclusion. Civilisation has culminated to being increasingly bound by law and legislation. The game portrays a tantalising depiction of this vicious period in history. A game which encompasses heart-rending music, gut-wrenching revelations and captivating camp & companion sociability alongside stimulating immersion and consummate interactivity that are made central to the player's focal point.

Its online mode was abandoned and left to rot years ago which was an unendurable shame. Nonetheless, the story mode is its unequivocal jewel in the crown.

The calibre of a game of this precious quality and distinctiveness is like gold dust. I am enthusiastic about future Red Dead games substantially more so than GTA.
