No Man's Sky, is a procedurally generated, infinitely diverse, survival/exploration game where you travel from planet to planet, collecting resources, upgrading ships and equipment, and engaging in combat with local wildlife, drones, or ships as you so desire. It has elements similar to Minecraft and Elite Dangerous, making it a very fun, quickly addictive game, but leaving things open enough for the player to make their own destiny.

Visually, No Man's Sky looks great. I wasn't expecting the level of detail or quality from an indie game. It does not feel like an indie title and I feel it lives up to much of the hype, which is rare these days. I am interested to see whether or not they decide to come out with new content, such as multiplayer or online mode, new ships, more quests or some other type of fun content. I think the possibilities are open for so much more.

With all that being said, I can see where story-driven players may find the game a little boring, but I would urge even the most hardcore of story-driven players to give this game a chance if you like exploration, open-world play, or survival games. I think you will be pleasantly surprised. I have a feeling I will be enjoying this game for a long-time to come and hope if you are playing or are thinking of trying it out, you do as well.

This game presents its story in an interesting way-- it almost reminds me of Dark Souls in that respect. I think the mystery is what will compel most to keep going as they puzzle-piece together the story and lore of the game.

The game has a lot of potential, however being that it is only single player it seems a bit lonely. What is the point of having so many planets to explore when you have no one to explore them with 😔
