My personality isn't even fully mine

I emulate movie characters I like, each and every time
Maybe if I shave my hair off I can see if you really like me for me

Overly dramatic, being hot-headed or sometimes just too much
Other times I can be empty, emotionless and cold to the touch

I have spent most of my life protecting myself from harm
Shielding my real personality until it was gone

I want you to go far away from me
But I need you to stay
