Played it for a few hours. It's okay I guess

Replaying this game a dozen of times made me realise how average the story is, how cringeworthy most of the main characters are, how forgettable and generic the villains are (except for Kamoshida and Maruki), and most importantly just how boring at times the dungeon crawling can be due to how extremely easy the game is even on the highest difficulty.

Yet despite its flaws, Persona 5 Royal is still one of the most enjoyable games I've ever played. While the Phantom Thieves could have been written much better, this game has some of the most interesting side characters in the franchise imo. Characters like Iwai, Sojiro, Kawakami, and Maruki honestly carry the game. The soundtrack slaps, the UI and art style is beautiful, voice acting is perfect, and the gameplay is objectively the best in the franchise. Palaces are a massive improvement over P4 dungeons, and there are way more side activities you can do than in any other Persona game.

Not only is this my favourite Persona game, it is my favourite game of all time. Even though it's flawed, I'm sure you'll still have a very good time with it on your first playthrough. If you would want to replay it numerous times, I recommend you do so with mods, at least the ones that completely rework the difficulty. Either way, if you're at least a tiny bit interested in P5R, then go for it and buy the game now. I 100% recommend it and honestly, most of the problems this game has are only really noticeable if you are mentally deranged just like me and put over 1K hours into this damn singleplayer game lol.
