Clocking in at 45h as of writing, and still having not finished Act 1 of my first playthrough, I may have much more in store for me, but I feel I can already write a review: to summarise, this game is a masterpiece.

The worldbuilding is just impressive: every corner you dig into (I'm the type that searches through all the nooks and crannies before talking to the elephant in the room) has something in it, be it a small secret or loot rewarding your exploration and curiosity, some hidden piece of lore (of which there is A LOT), an interesting encounter that is meaningless in the grand scheme of things or, very often, an entire section of the story, completely optional, but fully developed nonetheless, waiting for you to be curious and wander there, off the obvious path.

Then there's the multitude of approaches you can take to every encounter, from the meathead murder-everyone method, to talking you way out of (or into) things, or an out of the box approach that may involve using the tools and magic at your disposal (which can also be used to improve your chances when talking). I feel like I'm free to approach the situations as I wish, without feeling limited by the game, maybe it's a placebo feeling, or maybe it's me genuinely having that many options, but I don't feel stuck or having to conform to a game's weird limitations or quirks. I feel creativity is rewarded.

Combat-wise, it's a form of gameplay I had never explored or tried before, and in spite my little knowledge of D&D is from watching stories and adventures online, I thoroughly enjoy it - My point being, you don't need to be familiar with D&D at all.
It's really fun, at times somewhat puzzle-y when you stick your nose when it doesn't belong, and has a lot of possibilities stemming from the immense choice of skills and spells, spread out between your characters.

Graphics-wise, it's stunning. There isn't much to say here, it just looks amazing, and runs amazing as well. My machine is mid-end at best, and yet runs impeccably at 75 FPS on my machine (I lock the framerate), with no stutters or the sort - and I'm running Linux, which is a handicap on perfomance at best.

Overall, I recommend this to anyone that loves RPGs, as it is one of, if not the, best game I have ever played in the genre, and even gives me some motivation to try out tabletop RPGs in the future to explore my creativity.

What can I say, it's a unique RPG with lovely art and fun gameplay that isn't all that easy! Honestly love it.
