Best MMO to retire from the genre with. After all the hardcore vertical progression endless grind MMOs Tyria is the place to kick back, relax, and have fun.

I genuinely believe that Stardew Valley might be the greatest game of all time.

Check out mods if you ever want to refresh your Stardew experience.

I have a year 20 ish farm on switch, I've purchased this game 20 or so times for friends/family/etc. I own it on every platform available.

10/10

So I'm going to preface this by saying that, I've spent a lot more time ingame than steam says. I've spent ~3k hours on vanilla, and ~500 in this one. I mostly play offline to be free of distraction, especially when speedrunning.

So there are a few important things about this game, and the series.

The most important thing is of course, the game itself. It's a pseudo-roguelike, with some saying it is, and some saying it's not. The game is a top down, twin-stick, procedurally generate, dungeon-crawler.

But that's not important.

If you really want to know what it's about, here:

A naked child, running around, killing his own worst nightmares that have manifested into his reality. With his tears.
if you enjoy popping poop and crying a whole lot, you'll love this game. If you don't, you'l probably still love this game.

It's unique in the fact that the game has synergies that make it exciting. A significant portion of the items synergise with eachother in quite unique ways. Edmund McMillan and Nicalis have gone above and beyond the expectations for item synergy, and are even adding to that in the DLC set for October 30th!

The next big thing about the game is the community.

Isaac is a game that is streamed and recorded quite a bit.

The thing is, you can learn a lot about the game by just watching people play it. Be it some obscure mechanic that helps you in the future, or some item synergy you haven't seen before, waching others play is a great experience.

Some of the most influential figures in this regard are:

Northernlion (https://www.youtube.com/user/Northernlion): The scumlord. He throws won runs, wins thrown runs, and generally makes plays that make you both laugh and cry. that plus his amazing voice make him a friendly resource for beginners to understand how unintimidating the game can be if approached right!

Bisnap (https://www.youtube.com/user/Bisnap): He's pretty good at the game. He is probably one of the most analytical players of the game, and provides insightful commentary as well as a good explanation as to why he made some of his more confusing plays!

Cobaltstreak (http://www.twitch.tv/cobaltstreak): He is generally a very skilled, and slightly crazy player. He was one of the first, if not the first person/people to get Real Platinum God, and beat the secret character to completion. Now he streams his Eden streaks, winning more than a hundred matches in a row before finally losing one!

The other side of the community are the people who serve as figureheads for learning! Be it by modding, or making a website to help with your every Isaac need, there are people who are there for it.

http://moddingofisaac.com/
https://www.reddit.com/r/themoddingofisaac/

Those sites are two great modding resources, and if you're interested in learning, come check out the wiki on the second link!

And then there is http://platinumgod.co.uk/

Dedicated community member Elucidator (https://twitter.com/eluc_) maintains one of the best community resource sites for the game.

So basically, Isaac isn't just a game. It's a game driven by an outstanding community that has always supported itself and keeps the Isaac experience amazing.

So I guess I'm saying that you should totally buy the game.
